Description
Kokoshnik is called an old Russian headdress in the form of a rounded shield around the head or a weaver.
The main feature of the headdress is a comb. In various Russian provinces its form was different.
Kokoshniks were made in large villages, in cities or in monasteries the masters-kokotnitsy. First, they embroidered with gold and silver expensive fabric, and then pulled it on a birch bark base. Quite often kokoshniki was embroidered with pearls.
