Externally, the helmets are absolutely same, can be change in the material fabric, but the overall design is unchanged. These photos - photos of the helmet SSSH-94, who succeeded in producing a helmet TSS-81, as the titanium in many respects no longer satisfy. Here and difficulties with its supply, and the appearance of armored steel with the best performance (by the way, it is the same that was on the mask-1), which allowed to raise the class of the helmet to the 2nd.

The helmet is the original Soviet design, and still is a popular model of protective equipment. The biggest plus of this model - high class of protection and also protection of neck. That's big plus, if you have bodyarmour without neck protection. The biggest minus - if you receive bullet from something, that have power higher, than pistol bullet (like bullet from AK and etc), It could lead to serious grass down to the fracture of the cervical vertebrae. The problem was solved simply - just not to fasten a helmet.

Work on the development of the helmet was launched in the second half of the 80s, as an alternative replacement helmet TSS-81 "Sphere", do not have the ability to install visor. Also one of the reasons for the beginning of works was the presence of the KGB of interest to the helmet such a configuration. Group A of the KGB at that time already had a helmet "Altyn" manufactured at the facilities of the Research Institute of Steel and reduced to the form of the final product specialists KGB. The configuration of the helmet has been recognized as quite successful, which could not serve as an impetus to begin work on the creation of analog. By 1991, it was formed TU helmet mask-1 and started its production. The helmet consists of a steel shell, visor and helmet webbing.

During the production of the helmet was made several upgrades helmet. Blue "substrate" was replaced by "black". Accessories and material chin strap. The biggest changes in visor - has radically changed its shape, which was later applied to the ZS-1-2.

The shape of the helmet K6-3 (staff notation - 6B6-3, k6-3 - the commercial name of the helmet) copies the entire helmet Altyn, as both used for the production of a stamp-molding. In the picture you can see that the helmet webbing identical. According to official information, the manufacturer of the helmet - NII Stali, a year of development and production is to start in 2002, but from informal conversations with representatives of the Research Institute of his appearance K6-3 shall means a change in market conditions since the beginning of armor 90s.

It was in the early 90s the leadership of NII Stali was decided to establish commercial production of a helmet similar to Altin and with the use of existing developments. But given the already tested new technologies and materials. Because the helmet was 3 mm thick titanium shell, less than Altyn, but was supplemented aramid overpressure. It is the words of the Research Institute of Steel. In fact, I think there was a mix-up with the original TIG welding helmets and Ulbricht, serve as templates for creating forms helmet Altyn, who had originally aramid backwater and a thickness of 3 mm. Other samples Slam Altyn (no backwater) I just have not met. It should be pointed out that at a specified time (80 years) is the Research Institute of Steel is a resource that could provide the required production material that went into the production base of the helmet Altyn. This is where the operating time and the basis for setting up the production of the simplified version of the Altyn - 6B6-3.

Manufacturer: NII stali

Who use it: MVD, FSKN, Tax Police

Helmet Vitiaz-C one of the most interesting and rare helmets. A rather unusual view of the visor visor puts it in a separate series of these helmets. Thanks not usual view of it's visor. It's massive and very interesting, made from polycarbonate and steel. There is information that in the regions (in particular in the Southern Federal District) in some assault units of different (!) MVD and others still have the complete helmets Vitiaz-C, which on their own initiative use the "1st numbers ", going to the assault fighters first.

Depend on it's rarity, nobody can say exactly, when it's production started. Most popular version - 93-95 years it was produced for MVD units, and small quanity for Tax Police (yes, in 90x in Russia was special Tax Police, that need protection equipment). After it, it was also used by GOSNARKOKONTROL.

Also as you can see on some photos, it was used by VV MVD special unit (as you can see, one of soldiers have VSS). But officialy we cannot find any information about it.

Interesting information, that all visors was produced handmade.
